Abstract

Digital image recognition is one of the common research topic in Computer Science. Image pattern recognition is used in several applications for example in object identification. This research using a simple method to recognized the shape of object. There are some of object shapes like circle, square, and triangle. The object shapes are the basic shapes of many object things in human life. To recognize the shape, this research using template matching method. Template matching method is process based on the searching of similarities between input image object and image object template. Therefore the purpose of this research is to design and develop a two dimensional image shape identification system which is supported with various condition of image database. The method is using template matching method with NCC (Normalized Cross Correlation) formula. The result of the experiment with various image data is 82.9% accuracy.
