Media has been taking benefits from technology by coming up with new platform, the online journalism. Even though at the beginning, online media only copied the print content to the online version, a practice known as shovelware, later online media come up with different content. However, the short news and the speed publishing has led the media to be dubbed as “second class” journalism, which quality is lower than the print media. This research, using the methods of interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) which characterized by hermeunetics and idiographic approach, explores different views of online journalists on their own profession. Four main findings of the research focus on the impact of the profession toward journalist, the weakness and the strength of online journalist and what they deem necessary for online journalism to get better.
