Abstract

PT Catur Mitra Sejati Sentosa is a subsidiary of PT Catur Sentosa Adiprana, a building materials distributor company. In 1996, PT Catur Mitra Sejati Sentosa established the first building materials retail store with the concept of one stop shopping in Indonesia, known as Mitra10. PT Catur Mitra Sejati Sentosa realized that in order to expand their business in Indonesia and South East Asia market, they need to have a strategy to maintain the company’s performance. Human resource is the most important factors in the business because the company’s performance depends on the capability of the human resource inside the company. PT Catur Mitra Sejati Sentosa improve the capability of the human resource inside the company through training and development practices. Training & Development division in PT Catur Mitra Sejati Sentosa are responsible for the process of training and development in the company, including the training evaluation. Training evaluation in an important part of the process because it gives information and feedback of how well the training works. PT Catur Mitra Sejati Sentosa give the opportunity for university student to learn about training and development practices in a company through internship program. During this internship, the writer believes that applying training and development in a company is a significant way to improve the human resource’s capability, and training evaluation is important to make sure the training and development fulfills their objective.
