Abstract

The objective of this research is to obtain empirical evidence about the effect of profitability, liquidity, firm size, business risk and firm age toward capital structure. Capital structure is important known by shareholders and company because financial stability and the company risk of bankruptcy depends on the sources of funding and the type and amount of various kind of it assets. Sample in this research was selected by using purposive sampling method and the secondary data used in this research was analyzed by using multiple regression method. The samples in this research were 11 firms that has been registered as a manufacturer sector food and beverages industry in BEI for the year 2014-2016 consecutively, published their financial reports and has been audited by independent auditor, used Rupiah currency and had net income. Results of this research was (1) profitability do not effect on capital structure, (2) liquidity have significant effect on capital structure, (3) firm size do not effect to capital structure, (4) business risk do not effect on capital structure, (5) firm age do not effect on capital structure, and (6) profitability, liquidity, firm size, business risk and firm age simultaneously significantly effect on capital structure.
