Abstract

Dalam proses penyuntingan dalam film, penyunting gambar dapat berperan untuk ikut menekankan pesan yang ingin disampaikan. Melalui pemilihan dan penyusunan shot, penyunting gambar dapat melakukan dramatic emphasis. Dramatic emphasis adalah penekanan informasi yang ingin disampaikan kepada penonton. Karakter utama dalam film fajar, memiliki keinginan untuk memiliki mobil. Keinginan tersebut didasari oleh pemikiran lingkungannya yang berpendapat bahwa memiliki mobil menjadikan seorang kepala keluarga mapan. Dasar dari pesan yang ingin disampaikan adalah director�s notebook, yang berisi inti dan tujuan dari setiap scene. Oleh karena itu penulis sebagai penyunting gambar akan menerapkan dramatic emphasis sesuai director�s notebook melalui utilisasi shot close-up dalam penyuntingan gambar, agar tujuan dari scene dapat tersampaikan kepada penonton.
