Abstract

Setting merupakan tempat atau lokasi tertentu yang menunjukan keadaan / situasi yang terjadi. Setting menjadi salah satu unsur yang terpenting dalam film dan set tidak akan bagus tanpa kerja keras dari seorang art director. Art director sebagai pengarah artistik mempunyai tanggung jawab atas tampilan visual sebuah film. Tampilan tersebut berupa rancangan set dan properti, yang fungsinya untuk menghidupkan cerita. Pada film "Terbit di Bawah Binar" penulis berperan sebagai art director yang bertugas merancang set dan props. Film "Terbit di Bawah Binar" merupakan film tentang seorang ballerina yang ingin mengikuti audisi balet. Perancangan set dan props diatasi oleh 4 set yaitu set stage, backstage (ruang make up) dan juga tempat latihan.
