Abstract

In carrying out life, humans have 3 (three) types of needs, namely primary, secondary and tertiary needs. Primary needs are basic needs that must be met, which means that if not met human life will experience difficulties. It is undeniable that today's society is very concerned with tertiary needs. Every day to facilitate its activities ordinary people use vehicles both private vehicles and public vehicles. From these factors, we can draw the conclusion that humans need vehicles to make their lives easier. Therefore, in Indonesia there are many successful providers of transportation equipment and become large companies. One of the companies providing transportation equipment is PT. Astra International, Tbk. Due to the intense competition, companies are required to consider all aspects of large and small in order to achieve maximum profit. All company activities that affect cost must be included in the calculation of the smallest activity. In a company providing goods and services, a waste or a waste must be found. Waste or waste is very possible generated from various aspects of the work. Waste is a matter of great concern to the company because waste can affect company costs or even the income of the company. The theory of 7 waste was first put forward by Taichi Ohno (Toyota Theory) which discusses matters in the form of waste because Taichi feels that waste is a major factor that can greatly affect the cost and income of a company. Waste analysis is also important to do at Astra Motor (PT. Astra International, Tbk- Honda Sales Operation).
