Abstract

Industrial Placement is a learning program conduct or applied outside of the teaching and learning process in campus it is implemented by the industrial company or establishments. Industrial Placement is intended to increase the knowledge and enhance the skill of the student in Room Division, basically in Front Office Department. Industrial Placement Program started as from 3 July 2019 until 3 January 2020. Industrial placement is important for the writer to adapt and interact directly with staff and guest accordance with the field taken in a certain time. Industrial Placement can help writer to have better understand the divisions that are run and get a real picture with direct implementation also provides experience with improving work quality and better performance when the writer after graduation. Expectations from the Industrial Placement activities, the writer has professional expertise in accordance with the demands of the Business / Industry needs and has responsibility for each job given by staff and superiors at the hotel. The writer can also have expertise in good ethics such as speaking politely to friends, supervisors and also to guests and other expectations so that the writer can be disciplined by coming to work on time and following the rules at the hotel. The writer will learn to overcome problems in Industrial Placement, by requiring information technology and asking direct questions from seniors and mentors to find a solution. The problem faced by the writer is the language barrier in using standards with guests, understanding different work techniques, because each employee has a different way of working, and the lack of equipment to do work, especially in each division in the Front Office, and also the system error occurred during input, thus hampering work. However, problems that occur at the hotel can be solved by good rules and regulations and constant practice to improve the writer.
