Abstract

Industrial placement objective is to prepare the student for the work environment and experience in a specific role in a company. This industrial placement has the purpose to develop the skills especially in Housekeeping department by gaining the experience from staff and colleague, and also knowledge from learning on the job. An internship in a hotel take place for six months. It is being held from 15 July 2019 until 15 January 2020. By learning directly from the hotel, the writer obtains experience of facing the guest, handle guests complain, the working environment, and socialize with different type of people. The housekeeping duty is to keep the hotel clean and organized. The writer was assigned in the laundry for three months and the remaining three months is being a room attendant. There are some problem occurred while the training goes by. However the problem could be solved with the staff and supervisors assistance. This report is made to fulfill the course curriculum in the hotel operation program in the third semester. The writer hope this report could be used as reference for the other course curriculum.
