Abstract

Hasil dari penelitian memberikan pemahaman secara rinci mengenai konsep serta filosofi Grotesque dalam media visual, dimulai dari sejarah, perkembangan, kegunaan dari Grotesque secara kontemporer, serta apa definisi yang membuat suatu hal dapat dikatakan Grotesque, dengan data tersebut penulis membuat perancangan tokoh yang terinspirasi dari Ondel-ondel Betawi dan mitos Kuntilanak dan digabungkan dengan konsep Grotesque. Hasil akhir yang dicapai adalah perancangan tokoh Ondel-ondel dan Kuntilanak yang berupa monster, dengan mengaplikasikan elemen Grotesque untuk memperkuat konsep tokoh monster.
