Abstract

Industrial placement is a program that is used by UMN Hotel operations to make the student gain experience in the industry in the third and sixth semester. The main reason behind the program is to create a professional individual that can help the student in the future. The industrial placement grade is acquired by student's performance doing an industrial placement in a dormitory combined with the grades that students get when presenting the industrial placement report at the end of the semester. Batch three of 2019 has a different situation. At the beginning of March 2020, the Indonesian government announced that pandemic Covid-19 was spread. Therefore UMN was prepared to find another solution for the Industrial Placement Program with an option between industrial placement at the UMN Dormitory and video learning project. These options were taken to protect the students from Covid-19 risk. This report explains the activity program while having an industrial placement program in the UMN Dormitory. The industrial placement program was created to elaborate on the theory and practicum class in the room division (Front Office and Housekeeping). In this program, the student can apply the skill that has been learned in the practicum class to the real situation. Since the program was held during the pandemic the student is having several limited activities that will be explained clearly in this report. Although the program was uncommon as the previous program, the student is expected to fulfill the skill and knowledge as much as the student can get in the hotel industry.
