Abstract

Industrial Placement is one of the requirements to fulfill the core to graduate from the Hotel Operations Program at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara. The Hotel Operations Program offers the students to learn about the Hospitality Industry, starting from Room Divisions, which are Front Office and Housekeeping Department. Also, there are the Food & Beverage and Kitchen departments. Every two subjects finished, the students should be ready to do Industrial Placement. In 2020, the world unfortunately is facing a pandemic which is known as Corona Virus or COVID-19 and that made a lot of buildings lose a great amount of profits and some buildings actually collapsed. The pandemic made the students have to go through a difficult time to seek for hotels that are accepting trainees, so the Hotel Operations Program gave the students two options, which were to do a video project or do the Industrial Placement at UMN’s Dormitory. The writer carried out the job training at UMN’s Dormitory, which is one of the facilities that Universitas Multimedia Nusantara has given to the students. The Industrial Placement started on July 7th until October 23rd. There are a two methods that the students went through, and those are Project Based Learning and Learning by Doing. The writer has gained a lot of knowledge which has been poured into this report, starting from working in real world experience, the benefits of doing an Industrial Placement, and more.
