Abstract

Industrial Placement is mandatory for the student to complete the third semester. Therefore, all Hotel Operations student needs to fulfill the requirement of the program. The program was designed for six months period applying the room division knowledge that has been a practice in the first and second semester. To enhance the student academic result, the students are required to write the report by explaining the process, activity, coordination, and recommendation. This program was held during the Pandemic Covid-19 situation. Most of the students are having challenges dealing with this program. For the student who comes back to their city for instance, they are struggling to return to the university since the government has a travel restriction. Because of those situations the writers choose to run the Industrial Placement Program in Pekanbaru as the writer city. Another Hotel Operations Program recommendation is the student can conduct the program in a hotel nearest to their home. Accepting the recommendation the writers chooses Megara Hotel by Azana as the place to get experience in the Industrial Placement Program. Education has given a lot of knowledge for the hard and soft skills that can be applied in real work-life situations. Technical skill for room division that the writer will be explained in this report is front office department in Megara Hotel by Azana. A skill that is sharpened in the hospitality industry as a front office department is a check-in, check-out, and reservation. This report will be describing the process of internal and external activity before accepted to the appointed hotel, activity during the Industrial Placement Program, problem and solution, and recommendation. Joining in Industrial Placement Program of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara improve the student capability in hotel service management. By elaborating knowledge receive from university and experience got in hotel the writer is practiced to have an opportunity being a part of a person in the hospitality industry.
