Abstract

Building often negatively impacts the surrounding environment, and one solution to these problems is applying sustainability concept to the building design. One of the efforts to support sustainability is applying it to the Final Project design process. The case study presented in this paper is about using an eco-leisure concept as the design approach to improve image and value of Pamulang sub-district. Context analysis is carried out to find the issues with producing a design that applies the concept of sustainability to the design. The results of the research that has been carried out regarding the image and value of Pamulang sub-district obtained the results of the analysis that until now, both the image and value of Pamulang sub-district are not good. One of the causes is the lack of maximum utilization of natural elements in Pamulang sub-district named Ciledug lake. If those aspects and elements are improved, it can positively impact the image and value of Pamulang sub-district. This paper uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Designing with the eco-leisure concept to improve the image and value of Pamulang sub-district has been chosen as a case study to present how to apply a sustainability concept in the Final Project design process. The design results by using a sustainable approach as a solution found in the research are analyzed and related to the principles of the eco-leisure concept which is expected to improve the image and value of Pamulang sub- district.
