Abstract

The internship was conducted at Kompas Gramedia in Financial System Development Departement. The task given during the internship are making Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) for The Jakarta Post. In making SOP, involvement was limited to making details of the procedure from the existing Global Procedure. Other tasks given are related to the application of the General Ledger Program. The tasks given in relation to the application of the GL program are account addition, income statement layout editing, data input for new company, income statement layout additon, new department addition. Layouts addition are also provided for System Application and Product (SAP) programs. Other duties assigned during internship is to do bank reconciliation, advance employee, account receivable and account payable. During the internship, most of the tasks can be executed properly. There are some difficulties in studying the business processes and abbreviations in the Jakarta Post Global Procedure. Every difficulties are solved by asking the related staff in related job. There were some difficulties too in reconciliation caused by some invoices are not recorded in the GL data and the process of tidying up files takes time due to RAM limitations. To prevent data that is not recorded then by checking the invoice manually from Orlansoft program.
