Abstract

Humans live in a society with diverse backgrounds from different ethnicity, race, and religion to physical limitations and their fuctions sense. One of that diversity is people who are sensory disabled. Sensory disabled persons are those who are deaf, visually impaired, and speech impaired. Even though disabled people and non-disabled people live in the same society, sensory disabled persons still often get a negative response regarding their conditions. This happens because non-disabled people don't know the boundaries and things that can offend sensory disabled people. For this reason, early familiarization with sensory disabilities is needed. This step is needed for children because children are actively learning, developing, and getting to know the outside world. Therefore, using storytelling is a suitable method to introduce children to sensory disabilities. From stories, children can expand their knowledge and participation in things that they never knew before. All those data mentioned above were obtained by the author through literature studies, interviews, observations, and questionnaires.
