Abstract

An HMD is a device for a VR experience applied with advanced tangible media technology. It’s been drawing a lot of attention from this year. This study focuses on development of “Muru in Wonderland”, a VR content for children to experience Gwangju in a VR environment via an HMD. The content targeting children aged from six to 12 provides actual images of Gwangju metropolitan city, in which children have the chance to experience the city with ‘Muru’, the 3D character in a game format.. The objective of this study is to observe the HMD VR technology’s potential for use in providing children with 3D contents and for use of culture and tourism contents in a 3D virtual environment.
