Abstract

PT Kencana Gemilang is a leading manufacturer of home appliances product in Indonesia. Established in 1987, PT Kencana Gemilang has developed in electronic and home appliances industry and today, it has 5 production plant and exported its product to more than 15 countries across Asia. PT Kencana Gemilang realized that to sustain its competitive advantage, they need to have a sophisticated system of account payable management and inventory control. Managing account payable and inventory level is essential for a company. Controlling the credit term of account payable means that a company could adjust their financing to maximize their free cash flow and with the combination of exceptional management in inventory level, the result is cost efficiency that drive the maximization of profit for the company. Finance Department along with Purchasing and PPIC Department are responsible for managing the strategy behind account payable management and inventory control to make sure that cost can be reduced effectively and waste can be cut down. PT Kencana Gemilang gives the opportunity for university students to learn not just about account payable management and inventory control, but beyond that is the knowledge of inter department relation in running a manufacture company.
