Abstract

Laporan magang ini membahas tentang praktik kerja magang yang dilakukan di PT Global Informasi Bermutu (Global TV), khususnya di Research and Development Department pada program development section, bagian khusus monitoring program televisi. Research and Development Department merupakan salah satu departemen yang dimiliki PT Global Infomasi Bermutu (Global TV) yang berada dalam naungan divisi Programming. Departemen ini berperan mengawasi penayangan program stasiun televisi terkait dan mengevaluasinya guna mengetahui keberhasilan program tersebut. Laporan hasil monitoring nanti akan didistribusikan kepada departemen-departemen lain yang terkait seperti departemen produksi, news, promo, dan lain-lain. Penulis lebih mengalami kendala karena hal-hal yang bersifat teknis, seperti yang berkaitan dengan gangguan jaringan dan keterbatasan fasilitas komputer yang digunakan. Keberadaan departemen R & D penting dalam sebuah stasiun televisi. Hal ini disebabkan departemen ini memiliki peran untuk mengawasi dan mengevaluasi program televisi sehingga Global TV mampu menyuguhkan program-program televisi yang lebih baik ke depannya.
