Abstract
TANGERANG - Fakultas Teknik dan Informatika (FTI) UMN mengadakan hari kedua Expert Talk pada Kamis, (3/7/2025) dengan topik “Implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Agriculture.” Kegiatan ini menghadirkan Dr. Suputa, Kepala Program Magister Ilmu Hama, Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). Dr. Suputa menjelaskan bahwa sektor pertanian global tengah menghadapi tantangan seperti serangan hama, kekurangan tenaga kerja, dan cuaca tidak menentu. Melalui penerapan AI dan IoT, sektor ini dapat mengumpulkan data secara efisien untuk membantu pengelolaan hama, memprediksi serangan, serta mengatur penggunaan pestisida agar lebih tepat dan ramah lingkungan. Ia menekankan bahwa integrasi teknologi ini mendukung pertanian berkelanjutan (sustainable farming) karena menciptakan sistem smart farming tanpa mencemari lingkungan. Dr. Suputa juga membuka peluang kolaborasi antara UMN dan UGM dalam riset serta penerapan teknologi di bidang pertanian.
