Abstract

Shot is a part of the visual aspect in animated movie. Shot designing influences on how the information and narrative presented by the movie reach the audiences. Shot must give relevant information as descripted in the script, nevertheless gives some unique and beautiful visuals. The authenticity of shot or visual composition to support the story, could deliver higher value, which could distinguish the film with the other films. In this thesis, writer will focus on researching over shot compositions within frame and camera movement. Qualitative research method is used by conducting literature study and movie observations for references. The goal is to find out how to design shots that visualize creative process theory by Graham Wallas in an animated movie. The result of this research and design is applied in 2D animated movie “Artruption”.
