Abstract

The internship was conducted at Kompas Gramedia in Financial System Development Department. The tasks given during the internship were monthly closing on Orlansoft, bank out-clearing in reconciliation, adjusting the bank out-clearing in reconciliation on SAP, matching the revenue report from Orlansoft (back end) and Gen21 (front end), maintaining layout on General Ledger (GL), making income statement layout with line EBITDA addition on GL, adding income statement layout on GL, editing user access permission on GL, making report sequence ID on GL and mapping chart of account. During the internship, several obstacles found on the process were the number of system used, it takes time to understand the use of each system, the number of codes for making layout were difficult to understand, errors found on the Orlansoft that need assistance from IT unit department. The solutions to this problems are allocating time to understanding the use of the each system and made a note for using the system, learning and memorizing the codes for making layout, and have a meeting with IT unit department. Recommendation for Kompas Gramedia are to immigrate to an integrated accounting system to support operational activities to be effective and efficient, on adding an account for GL system requires authorization from 1 person, in order to made the account from each business unit are consistent, and the system configuration need some concern by cooperating with companion from IT unit, so there’s no troubles in the operational activities.
