Abstract

The objective of this Industrial Placement program is to enhance the skill of the students in Front Office Department, especially in Concierge and Operator. This program began in July 2019 and ended in January 2020. The internship program is important because it can enhance the skills and experiences by working in the real industry. This report is made to fulfill part of the course curriculum. By reading this report, hopefully reader can gain knowledge about how the condition of Industrial Placement in the hotel industry and all of the process to reach the hotel acceptance. Some activities that the writer had experience in Front Office Department such as handling guest luggage, explain room facilities, suggest the tourism destination to the guest provide information, assist guest to meeting room, checking room then inform to Front Desk Agent to update the status. More about the report, it contains the details of procedure and activities during the Industrial Placement experience from July 2019 to January 2020. Some problems occurred during the Industrial Placements programs that will explain in this report. Such as sometimes forget to ask to the courier for more complete information for the guest, had wrong decision during in charge as a concierge, did not memorize the hotel facilities when guests ask to the concierge counter, etc. The information in these report can be used as a references for other student who will facing the Industrial Placement Program in Universitas Multimedia Nusantara. Moreover, Industrial Placement gives a chance to students go have many experiences, skills, and knowledge about the real operation in hotel industries that will affect to students performance, attitude and professionalism towards to the career path.
