Abstract

Dalam penulisan skenario sebuah film, tentu tak lepas dengan adanya konflik dan karakter. Konflik sendiri dapat datang dari diri sendiri, orang lain, maupun dari dunia luar. Dalam sebuah cerita, konflik dapat berpengaruh pada perubahan karakter. Perubahan yang dimaksud ialah bagaimana kondisi karakter sebelum menghadapi konflik, dan setelah karakter tersebut mengalami konflik. Dalam film Journey of Stars, penulis menerapkan tiga level konflik yaitu inner conflict, personal conflict, dan extra-personal conflict yang nantinya akan berpengaruh pada character arc atau perubahan karakter utama. Ketiga jenis konflik tersebut akan diterapkan dengan menggunakan teori pembabakan plot character arc menurut K.M. Weiland.
