Abstract

The internship was conducted at PT Sinergi Tridaya Medical in Accounting Division as an Accounting Staff. During the internship, the tasks that were done are document filing, making the recapitulation of customer’s data, making the reimbursement journal, making the recapitulation of account payable list, making the account receivable journal, inputing data of payment to Accurate Software, matching the Outstanding Account Receivable List with the bank statements, inputting data of sales invoice, and updating the bank list. During the internship, most of the tasks could be executed properly. There were some problems, for instance, first, there was a difference between the grand total of account receivable in the company’s system with the total in the bank statement, second, the available information about outstanding account receivable is very limited. The solution to resolve the problems was, the author asked the Account Receivable Staff about the causes of the difference and the additional information about outstanding account receivable. The suggestions for the problems were allocating the account receivables daily (every morning), reviewing the accounts receivable (A/R) regularly and making recapitulation of outstanding A/R which includes complete information such as the name of the customer, the amount of receivables, the date of settlement, and the name of the customer's bank account.
