Abstract

Industrial Placement was held by Hotel Operations Program at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara. This program is conducted two times in the third and sixth semesters. The first phase of the program is for room division ( Front Office and Housekeeping). Then, followed by the second phase is for Food and Beverage ( Kitchen, Pastry, and services). This report will describe the phase of the Industrial Placement Program specifically for the Housekeeping Department. This Program run in the pandemic COVID-19 situation. Since there is a government restriction, the program was changed to adapting the situation. Thus, the Hotel Operations Program gives students options to carry out the program in a dormitory and video Learning project. By concerning the situation, the program was recommended to make sure the health protocol is applied. Considering the environment of the UMN Dormitory, so the writer choose it as a place to gain experience and skills in the Housekeeping Department. After the fit and proper test process, the writer has started the program from July until October 2020. All the processes, activities, and requirements will be explained in this report. This report aims to introduce and share the knowledge the writer got during the industrial placement at the UMN Dormitory, Department of Housekeeping. Although the program was running in pandemic COVID-19, the writer still has the opportunity to develop hard and soft skills. Besides the technical skill, this program also sharpens communication skills, problem-solving, and leadership. It can be useful for all students to catch up on career development in the hospitality industry.
