Abstract
Berangkat dari tipologi alternative media yang digagas oleh Chris Atton (2002), peneliti menelaah secara lebih mendalam enam tipologi alternative media dengan studi kasus film documenter Jakarta Unfair. Konsep yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Alternative Media, Tipologi Alternative Media, Film Dokumenter Sebagai Alternative Media. penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, paradigma post-positivis dan sifat deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa film dokumenter Jakarta Unfair merupakan media alternative yang dapat dilihat dari content, form, reprographics, distributive use, transformed social relations dan transformed communication processes
