Abstract
Graphic pattern refers to creating visual order and harmony by defining a location and alignment of an image or a form. Through reconstructing a motive image into a geometric rule, graphic pattern gives aid to maintaining association of a decorative and consistent image. Such pattern generation is done based on basic formative theories by defining its organizational logic and may be used as a tool for designers to create a pattern along with mathematical interpretation and development into software using computer programming. Such a software creation tool allows designers to enhance intuition and efficiency in pattern making. Hence, this study aims to experiment a new potential for pattern making through developing a program applying geometric algorithm with theoretical research on pattern generation. Besides, it examines a possibility in design practice through employing a visual element of identity design with this program.
