Abstract

Proses komunikasi diperlukan untuk membangun sebuah organisasi yang beriklim baik dan konduktif agar tujuan bersama dalam organisasi dapat tercapai. Tujuan penelitian terhadap komunikasi dalam organisasi, khususnya downward communication dan horizontal communication, dalam sebuah perusahaan telah diterapkan secara efektif dan maksimal sehingga perusahaan dan karyawannya merasakan efek komunikasi efektif yang merata. Penelitian ini bersifat kuantitatif eksplanatif dengan paradigma positivisme, yang meneliti pengaruh dari downward communication (komunikasi atasan dengan bawahan) dan horizontal communication (komunikasi antar karyawan setingkat) terhadap kinerja karyawan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada 64 responden yang merupakan karyawan PT Tokopedia. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan dari downward communication dan horizontal communication terhadap kinerja karyawan PT Tokopedia sebesar 39.8%, sedangkan sisanya 60.2% dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor lain di luar fokus penelitian penulis.
